Born From Our Hardest Seasons
The Unshakeable Foundation was born from one of the most difficult seasons our family has ever faced—a season that changed us forever and ultimately gave us a new purpose.

Our journey began when Meghan’s sister, Alexis, lost her husband, Jimmy, to COVID, leaving her to raise their two young boys on her own. As our family was navigating that unimaginable loss, Meghan’s father, Paul “PB” Barrett, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Just months later, we said goodbye to PB—the heart of the Barrett family and a man whose generosity, kindness, and love touched everyone he met.

Before we had even begun to process our grief, Meghan was diagnosed with Stage 3B triple-negative breast cancer. As we walked through surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and the uncertainty that followed, Josh’s father, Mario, was diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Life had changed for our family in ways we never could have anticipated.

Through every setback, we experienced the incredible power of a community that refused to let us walk alone.

Friends, family, neighbors, and even strangers showed up with meals, childcare, financial support, prayers, and countless acts of kindness. They reminded us that hope often arrives through ordinary people willing to do extraordinary things for others.

Along the way, we met other families facing battles of their own. We saw firsthand how illness, grief, and financial hardship can affect every part of life—and how meaningful even the simplest act of support can become.

A Legacy of Opportunity
One value PB and Jimmy shared was a deep belief in the power of education. They believed every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams, regardless of their circumstances.

To honor their legacy, our family established the Paul Barrett Scholarship, creating educational opportunities for students whose potential should never be limited by financial hardship.

That scholarship became the foundation upon which The Unshakeable Foundation was built.

From Our Family to Yours
Today, our mission has grown beyond scholarships. The Unshakeable Foundation supports families facing cancer, serious illness, unexpected loss, and financial hardship while continuing to invest in educational opportunities and bring hope to children and families in need.

Every family we serve reminds us of our own. Every act of kindness honors the people who carried us through our darkest days.
